What Is Metasearch?

Metasearch technology allows InfoSpace.com to return all the best search results from Google, Yahoo!, Bing, and Ask.

Each search engine has its own method of searching and each will return different results. InfoSpace.com looks at all of them, decides which are most relevant to your search, eliminates duplicates and reveals them to you. In the end, you get a list of results more complete than anywhere else on the Web.

How Can I Customize My Search?

By setting your individual search preferences, you can customize your InfoSpace search experience. Best of all, InfoSpace.com will save your settings so you'll automatically have the same tailored search experience next time you search with us.

How Do I Refine My Search?

First, be sure you're searching within the right category. By selecting a category on the left side of the search page, you can search for Web pages, images, videos, news articles, businesses and people. By using the option that's most appropriate for your particular search, you're more likely to get the results you're looking for.

Still didn't find what you're looking for? For most search results, InfoSpace provides a list alternative search terms. If you don't find what you're looking for the first time, try clicking on one of the suggested search terms on the right side of the search results page under the "Are You Looking For?" header.

How Do I Filter Adult Content?

Filter settings are set to "moderate" automatically. To filter adult content differently, go to the search preferences page, select the level of filtering you want in the "Search Filter" section and save your settings.

Filter: None - All search results will be returned, including those with potentially explicit content.

Filter: Moderate - Multimedia search results will be filtered with as much potentially explicit content removed as possible. Web search results will not be filtered.

Filter: Heavy - All results will be filtered, including Web and multimedia search results with as much potentially explicit content removed as possible.

InfoSpace.com will save your settings until you change them or delete your cookies.

Please note that not all search providers filter their content. Results for filtered searches are only provided by partners who supply filtered results. If your filters are on, results will not be supplied from providers without filtered results.

How Does InfoSpace.com Make Money?

Like other leading search engines, InfoSpace makes money from sponsored links and advertisements, all of which are clearly labeled on our search results pages. However, because sponsored links are only returned when deemed appropriate for the search you entered, not all searches will return results with sponsored links.
